What's Inside the Starter Kit:

32 oz ArtResin (16 oz resin + 16 oz hardener) - covers about 8 sq ft (enough for a 30 x 40" artwork or several smaller pieces)

1 reusable spreader for smooth, even application

1 reusable mixing stick for accurate, thorough mixing

5 pairs of disposable gloves to keep your hands protected

4 resin stands to lift your artwork while it cures

Maker’s Studio Torch for removing bubbles (butane not included)

The ArtResin Starter Pack is perfect for several small resin crafts, one larger piece of art up to 30 x 40", or experimenting with techniques like ocean art, geode art, or resin coasters. Just add a graduated measuring cup (not included) and you'll have everything you need to explore, experiment, and create with confidence!

Is the Starter Pack suitable for beginners with no resin experience?

Yes, ArtResin's Starter Pack is perfect for beginners who want to explore resin art and crafts. It's designed to make creating easy, with everything you need to get started, including a stir stick, spreader, stands, gloves, a torch and 32 oz of ArtResin.

It's a great way to get comfortable working with resin while creating pieces you'll love to show off!

What is the purpose of each item in the ArtResin Starter Pack?

ArtResin's Starter Pack is a great epoxy resin kit for beginners, designed to help you start creating glossy resin art. Here's what's included and how each item helps you get great results:

32 oz ArtResin: Covers about 8 sq ft - enough for a 30 x 40" piece or several smaller projects. Ideal for learning, experimenting and mastering new resin techniques.

Maker's Torch (butane not included): Quickly removes surface bubbles for a crystal clear, glass like finish.

5 pairs of disposable gloves: Keep your hands clean and protected while handling resin and hardener.

1 reusable stir stick: Designed with a flat edge to scrape the sides and bottom of your mixing cup, ensuring a through blend.

1 reusable spreader: Features 4 different edges to help you control the resin's flow and spread it evenly across your artwork.

4 resin stands: Elevate your artwork while it cures to prevent it from sticking to your work surface.

This beginner-friendly resin kit makes it easy to get started with resin - just add a graduated measuring cup and butane and you're ready to pour, spread and create!

Is the Starter Pack suitable for making coasters, small trays, or art pieces?

Yes! With 32 oz of ArtResin included, the Starter Pack is perfect for creating a variety of small resin items like coasters, small trays and art pieces. It gives you plenty of flexibility to explore and experiment with different resin art techniques.

If you prefer to work on one larger piece, the 32 oz kit provides enough coverage for a single piece of art measuring up to 30 x 40" (8 q ft).

Do I need to purchase butane separately for the torch?

Yes - butane is not included in the ArtResin Starter Pack due to shipping restrictions, so you'll need to purchase it separately.

The Maker's Torch has a recessed refill valve at the base and is designed for use with Butane Lighter Refill canisters. It is not compatible with Butane Stove Refill canisters that have a collar.

To fill the torch safely:

1. Work in a well-ventilated area.

2. Place the torch upside down so that the refill valve is facing up.

3. Insert the nozzle iof the lighter refill canister into the valve, ensuring the butane canister and torch are straight and aligned.

4. Press the canister nozzle down firmly to release the fuel - you should hear a hissing sound.

5. Stop when the hissing stops or the butane starts sputtering, which indicates the tank is full. Do not overfill.

6. Remove the canister, set the torch upright and wait approximately 5 minutes before using to let the gas stabilize.

For more information, see our blog Why Use A Torch To Get Rid Of Bubbles From Epoxy Resin?

How do I safely operate and refill the butane torch included?

When using your Maker's Studio Torch, keep the flame moving a few inches above your resin surface to pop bubbles and avoid overheating. Don't keep the torch too close or in one spot for too long or you risk scorching the resin. Always point the torch away from yourself, never leave it unattended, and keep it away from flammable materials or alcohol inks.

To refill the Maker's Torch, use a butane fuel canister (not included). Make sure you use a long-nozzled canister as the base of the torch contains a recessed valve.

Refill the torch in a well-ventilated area, away from flames - hold the torch upside down, press the nozzle into the valve for a few seconds, then wait a few minutes before lighting.

What safety precautions should I take when using ArtResin?

ArtResin is non-toxic when used as directed and conforms to ASTM D-4236, meaning it has been evaluated as safe for home use. However, it's still important to follow a few basic safety guidelines:

  • Wear gloves: Protect your skin from a sticky mess and possible irritation. If resin gets on your skin, wash it off promptly with soap and water.
  • Protect your eyes: If resin comes into contact with your eyes, flush them immediately with water and seek medical attention.
  • Work in a well-ventilated space: If ventilation is limited, wear a respirator for added safety.
  • When using a torch: Keep well away from flammable materials, point the torch away from you and never leave a torch unattended, do not over torch the resin, and do not use on solvent materials including alcohol ink, spray paint etc.

    First Timer Epoxy

I was extremely happy with my results. My first ever experience with epoxy was a test before I apply it to a larger project I’ve spent months on. Here is that test. My work can be super pointy sometimes. Thank goodness for the video y’all offer for that first time. Following the advice to a T yields excellent results.

    Easy to work with

I was terrified to start using resin. I've watched so many videos. I finally dove into it and WOW! It really makes your art pop! Great product.
