How To Resin A Lino Print

  1. If your lino block print design is on paper, securely mount it to a sturdy substrate, like wood. Alternatively, print your design directly onto a birch panel or cradle board.

  2. Allow the ink to dry thoroughly before applying resin.
💡 TIP: Most block printing inks won't require a sealant prior to resining. However, test first to ensure the ink won't run or the paper won't absorb the resin. If in doubt, use a clear-drying spray or brush-on sealant. Let the sealant dry completely, following the label instructions.

  3. Ensure the artwork is level and propped up on stands if necessary.

  4. Wearing gloves, measure and mix ArtResin according to directions.
💡 TIP: Not sure how much resin you need? Check out our Resin Calculator.

  5. Pour the resin in the center of your artwork and use a flat-edged spreading tool to guide it over the entire surface.

  6. Use an Artist’s Torch to remove bubbles.

  7. Cover and allow the resin to cure. After 24 hours, your resin will be dry to the touch and fully cured after 72 hours.
