Cassandra is an artist based in Lethbridge, Alberta who uses ArtResin and acrylics to create paintings inspired by nature, fantasy, folklore and fairytales.
Cassandra builds her images layer by layer, painting on multiple coats of resin - it's a technique that requires planning and patience but one that creates the most wonderful depth and the coolest multi-dimensional effect!

Here's the first layer of paint on resin - this will end up becoming the background.
Next step is another layer of ArtResin, which Cassandra will sand down once cured so she can paint on the foreground.
Cassandra has painted her foreground, a magpie, onto the cured and sanded layer of resin. Notice the background is barely visible under the sanded resin ....
But wait for it!!
And now, time for the final resin layer and to see the magic of ArtResin as the background unfolds before your eyes ... make sure you watch until the end!
Cassandra's love of animals, nature and the Canadian landscape are a big influence, and a recurring theme, in her work.
Cassandra is also an accomplished digital artist - don't you absolutely LOVE this wildlife series?! Amazing!
