Does where you're from or where you currently live influence your work?
Yes, the rather calm and picturesque environment in Switzerland gives me the space and tranquility for my creative process.
What's your art background? Are you self-taught or did you study art?
I am largely self-taught, but I have also attended several courses and workshops to fully understand and use the medium of epoxy resin.
Are you a full-time artist or do you create around work hours?
I now work as a full-time artist.
What do you love about the mediums that you use in your work?
I love the diversity of colors; blue is not just blue. Similarly, I love the ability of resin to give artworks incredible depth and a beautiful shine.
How did you discover resin? How has it impacted your artwork?
I discovered ArtResin for myself two years ago. Resin has allowed me to integrate a new dimension into my works. The depth and clarity I achieve with resin have taken my art to a new level.
Can you provide a brief rundown of your process?
First, I deliberately choose my color combinations from color theory. Then the creative process begins. I mix my own color concentrates and then intuitively create my artworks with the tinted resin. I pay close attention to the precise application of resin to achieve depth and clarity in the images.
Why do you want to make art? What motivates you to create?
I want people to bring more color into their lives and feel the power of colors in their everyday lives. I am always fascinated by how colors affect people's subconscious, and this positive effect is what I want to bring to the world.
Does art help you in other areas of your life?
I have found my passion in resin art and am grateful for it every day.
What do you hope someone sees or feels when they look at your art?
I hope that my art positively influences people in their daily lives and reminds them of their wishes and values that they want to implement.
How do you define success as an artist? What does that look and feel like for you?
Success as an artist means for me when my works touch people and bring a smile to their faces. It is not just the financial aspect, but also my personal fulfillment and the responses from viewers.
Where do you sell your work?
I mainly sell my art on my website www.nicboss.art and on Instagram at @nicboss_art, but also in selected galleries and exhibitions.
