How To Make Resin Petri Dish Art

  1. Warm up the resin and hardener bottles in a warm water bath prior to mixing. This will help any bubbles escape later in the process.

  2. Wearing gloves, measure and mix the ArtResin according to instructions.

  3. You will need about 3 oz for each 4” coaster (That’s 1.5 oz of hardener, and 1.5 oz of resin). Gently stir your mixture for at least 3 minutes. Stir slowly and carefully so that you don’t end up with a lot of bubbles.

  4. Once your resin and hardener are thoroughly combined, pour the mixture into your silicone mold. Fill up each mold about half way.

  5. Drop your favorite alcohol ink colors directly from the bottle into your resin, followed the white ink sinker to drive the color down into the resin. Use approximately 1 drop of white ink sinker to every 2 drops of color.
💡 TIP: Use no more than 45 drops in total for each 4” mold so as to allow the resin to properly catalyze.

  6. Keep alternating between color and Ink Sinker until you're happy with your creation!

  7. Cover and allow the resin to cure. After 24 hours, the resin will be dry to the touch and can be removed from the silicone mold. It will be fully cured after 72 hours.
