Our Dragons' Den Experience!

As you may have heard, Dave and I recently had the great opportunity to pitch ArtResin to "the Dragons" on season 10 of CBC's Dragons' Den!  FYI for all my American readers, Dragons' Den is the Canadian version of Shark Tank.  Actually, it was the precursor to Shark Tank!  Robert Herjavec and Kevin O'Leary who are Sharks on Shark Tank started out as Dragons (they're both Canadian).  Both reality TV shows afford hopeful entrepreneurs the chance to score an investment from a panel of wealthy business owners.  I can't give away too many details because we signed a mandatory non-disclosure agreement, but I wanted to provide just a little update because I can't contain myself :)

Below is a pic of Dave and I moments before we faced the fire:

ArtResin Dragons' Den Experience

So, we had to be at the CBC headquarters in downtown Toronto by 7:45 last Friday morning.  We were one of 12 pitches scheduled that day, and we were lucky enough to go first!  After a props check and a tour of the set (so we knew where to enter, stand and exit), it was time to go on. We walked down the stairs and there they were, Jim Treliving (Boston Pizza/Mr. Lube), Michele Romanow (Buytopia.ca), Joe Mimran (Joe Fresh), Manjit Minhas (Minhas Brewery), and Michael Wekerle (Difference Capital).  We did a demo of ArtResin and then answered a hundred questions!  When it was all over, we realized we had been in there for a full hour.  Whew!  All in all, it was a worthwhile experience and we were really happy we did it. Look for our episode in Season 10, airing anytime between September 2015 and April 2016.  We'll post an update on this blog once we know when it'll be on.. fingers crossed for September!
